There’s A Price To Have Entitlements Like Welfare, Food Stamps And Everything Else

We all love the word “FREE”. In marketing the word “FREE” is one of the most powerful words marketer could use in their marketing pieces. Start your marketing piece out with the word “FREE” … Free This or Free That … and the reader will be glued to your marketing piece. That’s because we all love free things.

How do you think the American public feel when the government, specifically the Democrats, tell you, vote for us and we’ll give you FREE money, FREE healthcare, FREE food, FREE cell phones and so on?

They jump for joy because we all love freebies, don’t we?

The problem is, there’s a price to be paid to have all of these freebies. It’s the Democrat approach to trickle down economics where they play Robin Hood and steal (in the way of high taxes) from businesses and high income American’s so they can “spread the wealth”.

A lot of American’s are perfectly fine with this because they think this is fair. They just want their freebies. They feel they are entitled to everything they’re getting. Here’s one of hundreds of video’s that perfectly illustrate so many American’s view on entitlements…

I’m smart enough to realize that if you give a person a choice of not having to work or even needing to go to work because they’ll be given money through TANF (Welfare), Food Stamps of which they can easily sell at least 50% of it off for more cash, medical and government housing, then the people won’t work. There’s no incentive to. There’s no reason to.

Sadly, people on welfare make more money per year than a person on minimum wage making it even more attractive. What motivation do these people have to get a job when they can make more money on Welfare than by working a minimum wage job?

And who’s fault is it that it’s like this?

The fault lies solely on the government, and more specifically on the Democrats. It’s not that Republicans are against American’s helping American’s, it’s that they’d do it in a more responsible way that wouldn’t jeopardize losing these entitlement programs, bankrupting America and you losing your freedom or putting the country in debt.

Unfortunately, our welfare driven American’s are only looking at today, and not into the future. It’s the old, “I’ll worry about tomorrow when it gets here,” and tomorrow is coming fast.

There’s A Price For These Entitlement Programs, And You’re Not Going To Like It…

When was the last time you truly got something for nothing?

There’s always a price for the FREE stuff. Somebody has to pay for them. So here’s the negative side to American’s receiving entitlements.

Right now this country is $18 Trillion dollars in debt. This MUST be paid!

If you had a car loan and you didn’t make your payments, what would the loan company do? They’d repossess it, right? Absolutely they would.

What if you were paying rent for an apartment and then stopped paying rent? You’d be evicted.

With the massive increase of American’s on entitlement programs, the cost to provide all of these entitlement programs is also massively growing.

Unfortunately, the Democrat approach to this is to increase taxes.

I get that this doesn’t affect people on welfare because they don’t pay taxes. But it does affect people and businesses who are paying taxes.

The middle class is being raped financially causing more of them to end up in the low income category. They pay high federal  taxes, they pay state taxes, if they own a home they’re paying property taxes, there’s sales taxes adding up to 60% of their money going to the government.

And then there’s ObamaCare which is further killing them ($389/mo premium jumping to $1400/mo) just so the no income and very low income get it free, and low income pay a subsidized amount. And now the government wants to give FREE healthcare to illegal immigrants which will further increase the premiums to the middle class.

Now democrats are talking about adding to their list of Freebie’s college tuition’s. How will we pay for it? There’s not much left to tax!

Then there’s the hit to businesses.

Already the American business pays the highest tax of any country. In addition, small businesses are the largest employers of American’s in this country. The problem is, the American business can’t afford to pay more taxes than they’re already paying. In fact, over the past 3 or so years there’s been more business closures than new businesses created.

In Seattle, WA they raised the minimum wage to $15/hr from the states $9.42/hr rate. This was the government trying to help American’s, but failed to see the rippling affect of this decision. Here’s an article that discusses it:  Seattle Increases Wages to $15/hr causing businesses to close

In a nutshell, businesses started closing down left and right. Why?

Because there was no additional money in their budget to be able to afford this huge increase to their expenses.

With a Federal tax increase which would affect all US based businesses, what would have to happen is prices would have to go up. Remember about 10 years ago when gas prices went up and how the price of food went up because the cost to transport those foods to your local grocery store went up?

It’s a rippling affect.

Look at it this way … The company who makes the food has a 10% increase in taxes so they increase their prices by 20%. The reason for 20% is because the company they buy ingredients from had a 10% increase also. The company that ships it also pays 10% more in taxes so they increase their costs by 10%. The store that sells the products to you pays 10% more in taxes so they increase their prices by 10%. In the end you end up paying 40% more now for the same product.

The value of the dollar just decreased by 40%.

However, the rippling affect doesn’t stop here.

Foreign companies who ship products into America are able to make these products for significantly less money than American companies due to all of the taxes American businesses have to pay and the higher wages American businesses are forced to pay their employees compared to foreign companies. America is not very competitive globally due to required taxes and required minimum wages and now required health care, all of which adds up forcing businesses to charge more money for the same thing that a foreign company can offer at a significantly lower cost due to their lower cost of doing business.

Would you spend $20 for American made or $7.50 for the same thing but made in China? If anyone should buy American 100% it’s those who are getting government entitlements because it from American businesses who are paying taxes that the government even has the money to pay out entitlement programs.

For most, since money doesn’t grow on trees and we have to spread the money we have out, we’d save $12.50 and buy the product from China. It’s not that we’re not American or don’t support America. It’s that we CAN’T AFFORD the higher price. I’m just as guilty as the next person for doing this.

Sure, I may feel guilty about it but I’m being taxed so heavily and the value of the dollar has decreased so much over the years, I can’t afford to “buy America made”. And if you want to blame anyone for this, blame the Democrats because they believe in big government and spreading the wealth which is the reason for these high taxes and high price to do business today.

The rippling affect here of high taxes and a high cost to conduct business is businesses going out of business (or moving their company to another country like many companies have already done) which reduces the amount of taxes the government gets, and it greatly increases the unemployment pool because of all of the people who will lose their jobs because the businesses going out of business which not only further decreases the amount of taxes being sent to the government but also adds more people to the Welfare/Entitlement pool putting an even bigger hit on the expenses the Government has to pay.

Now, to make running a business even harder, the Democrats are talking about “mandatory family leave”, increasing the minimum wage on top of ObamaCare with high premiums that’s killing the small business.

Something will have to give!

It will have to be your entitlements because the government will be forced to cut costs. And when this happens, just remember you said, “I’ll worry about tomorrow when it gets here”.

Along with this, if the Democrats continue to run the government, we will have bigger government and Americans will have far less freedom’s and liberties. Take a look at Executive Order 13603 and what the government can do to you…

Those that are fortunate to have a job will be taxed heavily, right along with what businesses we have left. The mom and pop shops will be extinct so big stores will be able to control the market place and their costs which will be high, the dollar bill will be worth just pennies in buying power, gangs will be rampant throughout the country putting everyone’s safety at risk, and all of you democrats who love your freebies can say, “Yup, we created this America”.

Something will have to give.

Am I being melodramatic?

Maybe. But likely not. Just look at human nature. Look at what lengths people will go to for survival.

I wouldn’t even be surprised if there’s a country wide civil war. And if there is, it would likely happen about the time the government tries to disarm us so they have more control over us.

You can be guaranteed that the government will try to disarm us (Hillary is already discussing it). Obama has already submitted 23 executive orders to increase gun control! It’s just a matter of time. And if America continues to vote Democrat, it will certainly happen.

If this happens, just take a look at what happened in Chicago which had the strictest gun laws in the nation … they had the highest murder rate in America by a long shot! That’s because civilians couldn’t protect themselves and the only people that had guns was the bad guys who don’t follow the law anyway.

Once Chicago allowed for citizens to carry concealed weapons, the crime rate and murder rate dropped significantly. What does this tell you?

There are a lot of hard coded American’s who want to retain their freedom. We fled Europe and moved to America for these freedom’s. Our fore-fathers wrote a constitution to make sure we never lose these freedom’s.

Today we have Obama and way too many democrats are spitting on our constitution, the very thing they promised to uphold.

Keep in mind, I’m not a politician. I’m just a red blooded American who loves his country. I like being able to choose where I work, where I go to church, if I want to start my own business and much more. I’m writing this post like I write all of my posts based upon how I personally see it, based upon my perception of things.

Let me end with this. If you’re on welfare, what possessions you have are likely very important to you since you don’t have a lot of money to just buy whatever you want.

What if the government stepped in and took 50% of your possessions so they could be given to others who don’t have those same possessions? Would it piss you off? What if the government invoked EO 13603 and dramatically limited your water, the food you could eat, only allowed you to have electricity for 6 hours a day, all of which they could do according EO 13603. Would it piss you off?

Absolutely it would.

The first step to “controlling a nation” is to make them dependent on you. Isn’t that what the government’s doing with Entitlement programs … making you dependent on the government?

Moving on.

If you don’t want the government to come in and take your possessions, how can you think it’s fair that working Americans and American businesses should be taxes so heavily just so those who are more than capable of working don’t need to work because of Welfare and other entitlement programs? How is this fair?

I’m all about helping my neighbor who’s down on his luck. I’m all about donating clothes to the less fortunate so they have clothes. I’m all about helping the food bank so those who are less fortunate can eat. I’m just not about doing all of this if it means I can’t put food on my own table and pay my own modest bills (I don’t have a lot).

I know that those who are receiving entitlements don’t want to lose them. I know that those who are able to work, but instead are living off of the freebies don’t like the idea of having to get a job especially if they’ll bring home less money than they get on welfare.

What makes sense is we all put our heads together and approach this responsibly. How it’s being handled right now is not being responsible and can’t be sustained!

So what’s the solution?

I have a lot of ideas, which will be addressed in another post.

For this post, just remember, there’s a price and a rippling affect to the amount of entitlements the government is offering people. Something will have to give! One of those things WILL BE the amount of entitlements being offered because the government will NOT be able to sustain it and businesses won’t be able to stay in business with the high taxes they have to pay.
