An Open Letter to Franklin Graham That All Pastors And Christians Should Read…

It’s Time For Us Christians To Take Back Our Country… “Christians Taking Back America”

June 30, 2015 – Yesterday I sent an email to Franklin Graham. Following is the letter I sent to him. Since I decided to make this an open letter I added a bit more information which is clearly indicated by being in italic since I used no italics in the email to Mr. Graham.

Mr. Graham,

I follow you on Facebook and have read your comments about Same-Sex, uggghhh, Marriage (hard for me to say marriage because it’s NOT).

Anyway, if I may speak bluntly, please quit playing politics or the Evangelist Doom & Gloom story line (it doesn’t help) and start being a leader and looking for a SOLUTION. Put your focus on “solutions”. Fear tactics in the way of “God will strike us down” that while may be true don’t work for most people. That’s the WRONG message to be sending if you want to change things. Remember, people make emotional decisions and are always asking, “What’s in it for me?”

Please keep reading. I think you’ll really like my idea.

Start defining the problem. Talk to a lot of LGBT and get their input. Talk to those who don’t agree and get THEIR input as to why in their words.

You MUST know your enemy, and you must find its weakness. What do people really want? What do the LGBT really want? (I answered a core part of this in another article which I sent you the link to called Brainstorming A Solution Between Society & LGBT’s.

Outline all of the problems with this law.

List all of the things that could happen to this country and the moral fiber of America because of this law (use Canada as an example) and ask people if that’s what they want?

Show a compromised solution between LGBT and Christian values (you may have to dig deep here, but I believe there’s always a solution). I think you’ll ultimately find at the very core that LGBT just want acceptance and the same legal rights that a married couple have, while Christians want to maintain the sanctuary of Marriage and retain the traditional definition of marriage of being one man and one woman.  

I think you’ll also find, for example, MOST American’s would be very bothered if schools started teaching their kids about same-sex relationships. I’m assuming this to be true and you NEVER want to assume anything when doing what I’m going to be sharing with you. What else  about this law and the repercussions of this law bother Americans and why? 

TALK to a lot of people. Build your key questions up like…

  • “What bothers you the most about same-sex relationships/marriage?”
  • “How do you feel when you see two people of the same sex kissing or being romantic in public?”
  • “How would you feel if schools started teaching your children about same-sex relationships?” (You don’t have to add in anything about it going against the Bible at this stage because you want THEM to tell you how they feel without you ‘leading’ them.
  • Where do you see America going because of this law?
  • How do you see this law of same-sex marriages changing America? Is this good or bad?
  • Ask questions around kids … do you want your kids exposed to this? Taught this in school? Ect. A fast way to emotionally move a parent is when it comes to things that could hurt their kids. Along with this, find any study you can around LGBT parents raising a child and the effects of this on the child.

You want to collect A LOT of information. But first, you MUST ask the right questions. And you want to ask everyone you can, including LGBT. A survey on your website could be very helpful. Then if you want to categorize the answers you could ask the questions that allow you to categorize it like, “Do you consider yourself a Christian?” “Do you support the LGBT movement?” “Are you an LGBT?” This way you can run an analysis of the data based upon a category.

If you make the questions to “Christian driven” you’ll lose a lot of people, and those may be people who can make a difference in your collecting the information you need to beat this thing.

In fact, you might want to consider putting the survey on numerous different website including non-Christian based websites.

You also must be clear on how change is created. Thankfully history will give you all of the information you need. How did LGBT who is only 3% of the population get so much support? (Poles say 60% of Americans support them, but would that high of a percent continue to support them if they really thought through what this could do to the fiber of America?)

In a nutshell, how is the MINORITY groups creating change that’s offending and affecting the majority of us (American Flag not being flown in expected areas, removing 10 commandments from government offices, not saying prayer in schools or sporting events, etc, etc, etc.)?

They started a movement. It started out small and more and more people joined their movement. They used catch words, and emotional words and phrases. For same-sex marriage they positioned it as “love” when in reality it was about equality and power. But “love” sells better so they pushed it as “love”.

When it passed the Supreme Court they said, “Love won”. No, love did not win because this has never really been about love. It’s been about equality and being accepted, and as many LGBT have stated in many different facebook posts, it’s the beginning to taking down the Church and Christians in this country. Are you going to let this happen, Mr. Graham? Because that’s what a lot of them are after.

Just so you know, I have 27 years of marketing experience and am trained in the art of “copywriting” which is putting words on paper that compel a person to an action. You need to put together a team of marketers with an emphasis on copywriters to brainstorm your approach, branding and message to create the greatest movement this country has ever seen. Fire & brimstone is not going to do it. Instead, you need to address the “mainstream” market which would include devout Christians and every day people.

You don’t really have a problem here. It’s just an obstacle and there is a solution, but it needs to be orchestrated properly and it needs to be a collective effort. Christians need to start a “movement”. As more and more people rally up more will join. That’s because there are 3 types of people…

1) Those who are leaders and want to be at the beginning of a movement (smallest group),

2) those who wait to see what others are doing and if the right people and enough people participate, and they agree with the message, then they’ll join, and

3) those who do nothing and just sit around and complain. Unfortunately, when it comes to our Christian rights group 3 has been what most have done. That’s because NOBODY has orchestrated a plan, marketed it out to the group with branding and shareable propaganda and started the “We’re Christians and We’re Taking Back Our Country” movement.

Or “Christians Taking Back America” or some other “catchy” phrase.

You could even just say, “We The People Are Taking Back Our Country” and not include the word Christian(s) which could turn a segment of the market away. But “We The People” includes everyone, and correct me if I’m wrong (I’m not wrong) but doesn’t Christian values and traditional marriage benefit most everyone?

You MUST really think this through, and not go overboard with trying to shove religion down people’s throats (remember, they will know we are Christians by our LOVE, which is an action word and doesn’t require anyone to brow beat them into submission). I’d make it more main stream with some core Christian principles supporting the movement. After all, Christians do a lot for America and Americans.

For example, could you imagine the impact it would have to America if we lost the church and the thousands of Christian based programs that are in place to help fellow Americans? No more soup kitchens. No more Christian Charities. No more prison ministries. And the list goes on and on.

Who do the homeless  reach out to first? Churches and Christian based programs for help.

The Church and Christians have made a HUGE impact in this country and in helping fellow Americans. Could you imagine an America with this gone? Then who will these people who receive help from the Church, Christian organizations and Christians turn to?

Discuss what this country would be like without the Church and Christian organizations.

Or you could present this from the other side by showing where this country is going because of this law which has opened the flood gates for more perverted and immoral things like multiple spouses, pedophiles (Muslims already do this as part of their culture), insist and animal sex. 

After the movement is in full force and has momentum you can easily start gradually bringing in more Christian elements to it.

Of course, a well orchestrated moved fully supported by Christians could be very effective too. You just have to remember, Christians are an enemy to the LGBT because we’re the ones the have roadblocked equality and acceptance for the LGBT due to our beliefs. Now, I’m not concerned about the 3% that are LGBT having a problem with a Christian movement. I’m concerned about the 60% who support the LGBT movement because this is a huge group.

This is why I’m thinking it may make more sense to start out from an angle that isn’t Christian driven and then as the movement grows and gets more traction and support then start bringing in the Christian side of the argument. I wouldn’t want to alienate that 60% that support LGBT. I’m just sharing my ideas.

After you have brought a group of “qualified” people together to brainstorm this out (go to AWAI and hire copywriters who specialize in the Christian market place) and absolutely make sure you have the RIGHT message in place backed with compelling propaganda, it’s time to start the movement.

I’d start with the Churches and get the congregation involved.

With over 70% of the American public being Christians, could you imagine what would happen if we all took a stand and said, “We’re NOT putting up with this any longer”? Only 3% are LGBT, but they do have up to a 60% support of Americans (I find it hard to believe it’s that high).

WHO do you think businesses, politicians and government will side with … the 3% or the 70%? And with the businesses behind the movement you WILL see change. It’s time to wake the sleeping giant… Christians!

Right or wrong, he who YELLS the loudest and have the most people backing them will WIN. We have the numbers, so let’s get our country back. Let’s yell so LOUD that politicians, businesses and the rest of America has not choice but to listen to us, or lose our support.

But it will take a collective stand to win back America. And it will take someone to get it started. Let’s all pray about this and let our loving God lead us and put the right people in place, which MUST include marketers with an expertise in copywriting so the message is conveyed in a compelling and easy to follow way.

I’ve always believed that things happen for a reason and a purpose.

Maybe God allowed this to happen to see if His people would take a stand in HIS name like we expect Him to protect us. It’s OUR turn to show God our love for Him and give Him OUR support, to show God we are FAITHFUL to Him and stand by Him. I for one do not want to lose God’s blessing on this country.

So please, get off your pity party, stop your doom & gloom talk that doesn’t help (actually hurts) and let’s take a stand in the name of the Lord! Who will be that Leader who will get things going?

The 70% should unquestionably change things back to the way they were, and likely even make things better. I can’t remember the last time Christians across America took a stand, and NOW is the time!

P.S. Once the sleeping giant has been woken up think of what else we can “realistically” do (you want to be careful not to get power hungry and overstep things just because the sleeping giant has woke up). For example, let’s fight for the American Flag and stop the minority from having it removed from schools, colleges, public offices, etc. This is OUR flag, a symbol of our freedom and independence and paid for by the blood of thousands of our American brothers and sisters. We should be HONORING it and fly it with pride EVERYWHERE.

We should stop minorities dead in their tracks and pass laws that support the majority. Regardless to what I may think about Putin, I totally agree with this position of his…

This is AMERICA and when you’re in AMERICA you will follow OUR laws, respect OUR flag and mold into OUR culture. Anyone not willing to do this will be asked nicely to leave, and forced if you try to push your agenda on America that goes against the very fiber of what makes this country GREAT.

Mosque will be required to teach American laws and the constitution. Mosque that teach Islam which is NOT supported or recognized in America will be immediately closed down. America is the land of the free and provides many opportunities, but minorities will not come here and try to change our laws to their laws or disrespect us any longer. And when you break OUR laws you will be prosecuted based upon OUR laws. Sharia, for example, means nothing to us because it’s not American.

If you support another flag and want to follow a different law, go to the countries that fly the flag you support and the laws you want to follow. In America you will follow our laws and respect our flag.

I find it very upsetting that the minorities are winning only because they are yelling louder and making more of a commotion. It’s time for the majority to yell even louder and take a stand for our rights.

Could You Imagine The Changes That Could Take Place If The 70%+ Who Say They’re A Christian Took A United Stand? It’s Time For The Sleeping Giant To Awaken.
