Planning For Worse Case Scenario's To Maintain Communication And The Flow Of Information Amongst Conservatives.
It's begun! The Left is now in the process of instilling China like information control upon America so they can control the narrative for the Left. The Left does not want to be held accountable or to be confronted on what they do and on the policies they push out. They want no opposing views or discussions about them.
Plus, in a newly released video secretly taken it shows Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey telling his staff that the censoring and enforcement of information will be 'much bigger' than Trump.
We as a nation absolutely MUST leave these companies instilling Communist style information control and we need to do it NOW!
The Left is taking control and trying to force China like control over speech with all platforms. When we look at what Big Tech did to Parler simple because they became the platforms Conservatives went to after Twitter removed the account of the leader of the Free World and America's President we all quickly realized we all could be deleted. Here's what they did to Parler.com:
- Removed from Apple Store so Apple users can't install it on their phones and devices.
- Remove from Google Play so Android users can't install it on their phones and devices.
- Amazon Web Services where Parler is hosted telling Parler they have to meet their censoring demands are they'll be removed from the Amazon Hosting Services.
All of these things have solutions.
Have a download link to download the app. Provide instructions on how to install an app that isn't coming from Google Play.
I've never owned an iPhone so I don't know if you can install an app that doesn't come from the App Store, and if you can how to do it.
Also make sure your browser version of the programs is solid and functional. I initially used Parler from my browser, not from the App. In most cases with other social media platforms I find advantages to the browser version over the mobile app. Parler was the exception to this where the app was actually far better than the browser version.
For hosting services, two options:
1) There are a lot of hosting companies out there. Just find another one, move all of your data to it and update the values from parler.com cpanel directing to the new hosting company.
Depending on how you get your data & how many GB it is, you could be moved to a new hosting company in 12 hrs, but am going to assume Parler has many GB of data if now many terabytes of data. In this case you're going to have have all of the data moved to an external harddrive, overnight it to the new hosting company who will copy it all to the new server. In this case you're looking at a good 3+ days.
Update. I just listened to the Parler CEO discuss what's going on and he said they need 300-500 servers. He's right, this is going to take a while to get back up and running.
I have a good friend who uses Rackspace.com for the hosting of their SaaS program, but they aren't involved in anything political. They offer an application to businesses. He told me they reviewed something like 20 hosting companies. It's their plan to eventually have their own data center which is option #2 following.
If you move to a new hosting company make sure you own the servers so if you want to move to another hosting company or do #2 following you just grab your servers and go.
2) Create your own data center so you're never again under someone else's thumb. This could be a very lucrative profit center to someone who makes this available to other Conservatives. This is what I'd do. Looking at around $150,000 to put this together depending on how many servers are needed.
To solve these two problems, here's what another social media platform Gab is doing... To avoid censorship by cloud hosting companies, Gab maintains its own physical servers. Gab is also in the process of developing the Gab phone, to circumvent app store censorship. Here's a good article about this: Free Speech Platform Gab Reports 750% Increase in Traffic.
Another Problem We Need To Address...
If we all move to another platform there's still a few more problems we need to face head on:
1) Big Tech like Facebook & Twitter will try to buy them out! That's what they do, they open up their multi-billion dollar checking account and make an offer they can't refuse. If this happens, we're right back to where we started.
You need to know that 90% of software programs developed is with the hopes of a larger company buying them out... this is their exiting strategy. This needs to be addressed!
2) You have to make sure they aren't using a service by a company that Silicon Valley can force into their submission. For example, could a hosting company like BlueHost, GoDaddy or HostGator (to name just a few) shut your website down because it doesn't support their ideology? I would think that would be suicide for them to do that, but could they?
Unfortunately I've read articles where hosting companies like these have shut down websites but they weren't for ideology reasons, they were shut down because of their type of business like porn.
Could Silicon Valley with the support of the Government take control of all things internet?
I just had a friend forward me an article where a North Idaho internet provide blocked Facebook and Twitter so their customers couldn't access either of these two web services. What if our Internet providers block access to specific programs like they do in China?
Conservatives will need to start new Internet providers who don't block anything, or class action lawsuits will need to start happening!
If All Else Fails, Initially We Could Go "Old School" For A While
Old school is self-hosted programs like Forums. I've used forums for years, even still manage a few. They aren't as clean with as many options as a social media platform has, but they allow people to have discussions.
Most every website has a cPanel. This is where you manage everything associated to the website. From here you can install many different software programs you can run from your website. Here's what my cPanel Quick Install window looks like (click to see enlarged)...
Between the Forum group and Social Networking group there are programs we can use to keep the communications going.
For clarity purposes, these aren't the only options. There are hundreds of communication programs that can be purchased out on the internet that can be installed at your website. The programs under the cPanel are free programs.
These can also be solutions for topic specific discussions. For example, I plan to add a Forum here at TPA where we will discuss very specific topics around America. I'm a firm believer of spending 20% of your time "defining the problem" and then spending 80% of your time "brain-storming solutions". I want a place for America loving patriots to discuss the problem and brain-storm the solution to specific problems facing American's.
Forums were the first form of a social media platform and we may need to go back to them for a while.
If people create forums or other solutions at their website they need to also make sure they put in place a lot of security to protect the domain and website from attacks to shut it down.
I would also recommend that if you're going to have a large number of people coming to your site that you have your own server and not do this on a Shared server.
My point in all of this is there are solutions. They may not be perfect but they allow the flow of conversation and sharing information to continue without big brother breathing down your neck and trying to control how you manage what you're doing or what people say on your PRIVATE service.
